Fifteen Items for Two Weeks: Done!

5.2.11

Excited to be able to wear the rest of our clothes! Hope you guys enjoyed our 15 Items 2 Weeks challenge, this is the second week obviously. Our favorite days from this week are Monday and Wednesday. Hopefully some of you try out this challenge, it was a lot of fun and really easy as well. If any of you have done something similar, leave us a comment so we can check it out!

Fifteen: Week 1

29.1.11

Above is a roundup of all the items we've worn from the 15 Items 2 Weeks challenge. Next week will be the second (and last) week of our fifteen items, so far it's been fun and even a little challenging. Below are items that we haven't worn yet and, according to the rules, must be worn next week at least once. To see additional photos and information on each of the outfits, please go to our Chictopia Blog. For Iris, it's a black coat, ruffled shirt, and denim dress. For Daniel, it's a red blazer, white button-up, double breasted blazer, and black shorts.

THE 15

23.1.11

So after the last post and Spring's trend toward minimalism, we've been on a kick for downsizing and cleaning up our wardrobe (well at least Iris is, I (Daniel) on the other hand have no ability to stop my hoarding capabilities which is a testament to why I really need to do this). We're going to do this wardrobe challenge to minimize our closet for two weeks and only wear items from these chosen fifteen. We will post all the looks on a daily basis on our Chictopia Blog, and do a roundup post here at the end of each week. Here are the rules:
  1. One item you are not fully used to wearing (a "wild card") to force us to be creative with it.
  2. You must wear each item at least once.
  3. No using the exact same outfit
  4. Shoes and accessories do not count for your 15 items.
  5. Items must have slight variety, no choosing all one color for the 15.

Daniel: When choosing my pieces, I thought about what kind of colors and textures I've been inspired by and want to wear for this year and odd color combinations and classic colors came to mind (probably because of the Marni post). I also chose based on versatility of wear. Jackets can be worn open, belted, or closed and simple striped shirts or sweaters can be layered above or below button ups. My "wild card" piece is the pinky-coral and dusty blue striped button up shirt, I love the 50s style of it but don't wear it as much as I'd like.

Iris: I decided to put a lot of outwear because usually, those are the main focal points of my outfits and these are my favorite three jackets I own.  For practical reasons, I chose my white sweater (over an orange one) because it is much thinner than the black sweater, in case the weather isn't as cold. I really only chose my red shirt as a wild card because I don't wear t-shirt styles enough and this is sort of a dressed up version of one with the fabric, and it reminded me of the Marni red look from the previous post.
