Editorial Spotlight: Under the Influence 10th Edition

27.5.12

We haven't had an editorial spotlight since last Fall, so this is way overdue. Under the Influence Magazine contacted us with some great images from their 10th issue, so we decided to get back into the swing of things with this post! Go check out their website because they are seriously amazing, all of the fashion images are exceptional and we constantly look to UTI for inspiration for this blog. We, regrettably, don't own any actual copies so it's our pleasure to publish some of the high quality images on our blog. Below are three editorials from the latest issue of Under the Influence along with our thoughts.

FASHION FADES, ONLY STYLE REMAIN THE STYLE
BY
NIK HARTLEY

Models / Emma Wahlberg and Milly Simmonds
Styling / Margaret Crow
The editorial featured on the cover of Under the Influence puts the emphasis on a riff off the classics, showcasing the interesting Givenchy or Jil by Raf take on the collared shirt, tank dress, sweater, or suit. Plus, we're weak for 60s makeup.

NUCLEAR FAMILY
BY
GRETA ILIEVA

Model / Dempsey Stewart
Styling / Jack Borkett

The stark harshness and shadows of this editorial are beautiful. Gritty, clean, honest and minimal Juergen Teller-esque photography gives an 80s video girl styling a retro-futuristic 60s/70s vibe.

JUGENDSTIL
BY
ERIC NEHR

Models / Adrien Sahores and Thomas Bukovatz
Styling / Serge Girardi

Featuring one of our favorite models, Adrien Sahores (left), this editorial is up there in one of the best we've seen this year. The extremely inspiring mixture of paint, photography, and fashion puts menswear in such a strange, new context.

  3. Oh wow, the last editorial is awesome. It looks like it is fashioned to look like Egon Schiele's paintings, one of my favorites.
