Fashion, Weeks Ago

An actual update! These are some photos from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week when we met up with our fellow Chictopia Everybody Is Ugly editors, Heather and Crystal! Thanks Amethyst, our lovely EIU editor in chief, for taking the outfit photos! We're definitely sad that all of our outfit pictures can't look this amazing. (New York street + this camera quality are too much to handle in one photo!) Also included in here are some random pictures from walking around to go shopping and detail photos near the end. Warning: probably the lamest joke ever on the next photo, haha. We totally don't mean that.

RANDOM MOMENTS FROM MBFW 

Iris: When we went shopping at H&M, the cashier ended up not scanning a $30 shirt and after I noticed it I was like, "yes! free shirt!" 

Daniel: I wore this obnoxious gold disk hat and got a lot of pictures taken of me that day, haha! It was sort of awesome and surreal at the same time. Robert Verdi ended up tweeting a picture of me, sort of a backhanded compliment situation but it was still really funny. 

Iris: It was cool to see Carine Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo pass by me while I was waiting in the lobby area! Also, it was great to met ClothesHorse during a show. 

Daniel: Going backstage at Perry Ellis and getting to meet model, Julian Schratter was really cool.

The first day was sort of a bad first impression since we got up way too early because we got the show time wrong and had to come back later (and it was oddly hot that day)... and be greeted by traffic on the way back to Lincoln Center. A taxi turns from $6 to $16 way too quickly. It was still amazing to go to all the shows though!

Daniel: It's really awkward to be in the Teen Vogue Haute Spot alone and being the only boy, hahaha.

Iris: I think I saw Bill Cunningham taking a picture of us while we were sitting on the entrance steps? Not sure if it was really him though, been stalking NYTimes since!

There was a blackout going on here in San Diego the night we left for NY, boy do we have good timing.

We went to the Metropolitan Museum before some shows on our second day, we might have some pictures from that. (will post soon!)

After going to the Christian Siriano show, going to A Very Stylish Picnic slipped our mind. Still regretting that! :(

Soho has like 5 H&M's within walking distance of each other... on the same street.

You'd think Lincoln Center could afford a light up sign in Helvetica instead of Arial right? You thought wrong. hahahaha

We sat next to Patrick McDonald, Lauren Ezersky, and Michael Musto at Betsey Johnson! What?! Too amazing. Michael Musto climbed over us to go see Nicki Minaj. Highlight of the day!

Fashion people are so skinny because there's no time to eat and living on frozen yogurt and Fiji water is the easiest option.

To finish this list off: We finished our fashion week experience eating McDonalds outside a pizza place. Fast food never tasted so good.
